I love having my nails done, but I don’t always love the time, expense, or upkeep that comes with going to the nail salon.
That’s why I’m here to say: don’t underestimate press-on nails!
Press-on nails have come a LONG way. You can find everything from simple neutrals to glitter, leopard print, seasonal designs and just about anything else you can imagine.
And one of my favorite parts? I can match them to my outfit!
For me, they’re an easy and affordable way to add a little fancy without making a trip to the salon.
Why I Love Press-On Nails
There are so many reasons I’ve become a fan of press-ons.
They’re easy to do at home, I can change the style whenever I want, and Amazon has tons of inexpensive options.
I can wear something neutral one week and switch to something fun the next. Leopard print with black? Yes, please! 💅
I also feel like press-ons have been easier on my natural nails than gel or SNS. That’s simply my personal experience, but it’s one of the biggest reasons I keep going back to them.
My Secret to Making Press-On Nails Last Longer
Here’s where I’ve changed things up a little.
Many press-on nail sets include adhesive tabs. I usually don’t use them.
Instead, I apply my press-ons using CurvLife nail glue.
I’ve found that CurvLife gives me a much stronger, longer-lasting hold than the adhesive tabs. My nails aren’t guaranteed to stay on forever — I’ve definitely had one pop off from time to time — but this method works much better for me.

Don’t Forget the Glue Remover!
If you’re going to use a stronger nail glue, I definitely recommend having the CurvLife Glue Remover too.
I’ve found that the remover really helps when I’m ready to take my press-ons off. Instead of trying to pull or force a nail off, I use the remover to help loosen the glue.
Take your time removing press-ons. I don’t recommend pulling or prying at a nail that doesn’t want to come off. The goal is cute nails — not damaging your natural ones trying to get the press-ons off!
For me, having the glue and the remover makes the whole press-on nail routine much easier.

My Purse Glue Trick 👛
Even with a strong nail glue, life happens.
A press-on can pop off at the worst possible time, so I keep another little bottle of nail glue in my purse.
If I’m out somewhere and lose a nail, I don’t have to spend the rest of the day walking around with nine cute nails and one naked finger. 😂
I can simply glue it back on and keep going.

Here’s another trick I’ve learned:
Don’t throw away the leftover nails when you finish putting on a new set.
I take a few of the extra nails from my current set and put them in a tiny baggie that goes in my purse.
Why?
Because sometimes a nail doesn’t just pop off — it disappears!
If that happens, I have extra nails from the same set with me. I can find one that fits, glue it on, and I’m back in business.
It’s such a simple little trick, but it has saved my manicure more than once.

A Little Fancy Without a Lot of Fuss
I’m all about finding easy ways to make everyday life feel a little more fancy.
Sometimes that’s jewelry with a comfy outfit. Sometimes it’s a cute pair of shoes. And sometimes it’s a fabulous set of press-on nails.
Are press-ons perfect? Nope.
I’ve had nails pop off. I’ve lost them. I’ve had to glue them back on.
That’s exactly why I keep my little bottle of glue and a few extra nails in my purse!
But they’re affordable, easy to change, fun to coordinate with my clothes and, for me, easier on my natural nails than my previous gel or SNS manicures.
