There is nothing like packing for an anniversary getaway—especially when the forecast says over 90 degrees!

Today is travel day! My husband and I are heading to the North Georgia mountains for an anniversary getaway and the holiday weekend, and I am definitely ready for a little cabin time, relaxing, and celebrating. ❤️🏡

But before we get to the mountains, we have to get there—and when you’re traveling in temperatures over 90 degrees, what you wear can make a huge difference.

My travel-day rule is pretty simple:

I want to be comfortable, but I still want to feel cute.

And today’s OOTD checks both boxes.

My Hot-Weather Travel Outfit

For today’s drive, I’m wearing a Lane Bryant Active LIVI skort with a matching hooded tank.

I love a skort for days like this because you get the cute look of a skirt with the comfort and coverage of shorts underneath. It’s especially nice for traveling because I don’t have to think about how I’m sitting, getting in and out of the car, or making stops along the way.

The sleeveless hooded tank keeps the outfit casual and sporty without looking like I just threw on workout clothes.

And most importantly today?

It’s COOL!

With temperatures climbing above 90 degrees, the last thing I want is heavy clothing or a bunch of layers.

This is the kind of outfit that can take me through the entire day:

• Sitting in the car for the drive
• Running last-minute errands
• Stopping for lunch
• Checking into the cabin
• Exploring when we arrive
• Relaxing once we’re settled in

Comfortable doesn’t have to mean frumpy. A coordinated outfit can be incredibly easy to wear and still make you feel put together.

If we decide to stop somewhere, grab dinner, shop, or explore a little town on the way, I don’t want to feel like I need to change clothes first.

There’s another little part of today’s OOTD that isn’t technically clothing—my glow!

Keeping Makeup Simple When It’s 90+ Degrees

Hot weather is one of those times when I really believe less can be more.

If I’m going to be getting in and out of a hot car, carrying luggage and eventually settling into a cabin, a full face of heavy makeup isn’t particularly appealing to me.

A little luminizer gives me some glow without that heavy makeup feeling. Add whatever other basics you like, and you’re ready to go.
