Some work-from-home days begin at the desk. Others begin with errands—and today, I needed an outfit that could handle both.

Before starting work, I had to make a quick trip to the bank. I wanted to look presentable while I was out, but I also needed something comfortable enough to wear for the rest of my workday. This blue paisley sundress turned out to be the perfect choice.

Instead, I am starting to bring fall colors into my wardrobe while continuing to wear lightweight summer styles.

The navy, blue, white and neutral colors in this dress feel like a transition into fall, but the sleeveless design and flowy fabric keep it cool and comfortable. The length and fullness of the dress also give me plenty of coverage without making me feel hot or restricted.

A sundress is one of the easiest one-piece outfits to wear. I did not have to spend time deciding which top matched which bottoms. I simply put on the dress, added my sandals and jewelry, and I was ready to head to the bank.

My silver sandals kept the outfit comfortable and practical for walking, while my dangling silver earrings and other jewelry added a little Fancy Nancy sparkle.

A sleeveless sundress may be perfect for errands and working around the house, but I like having an extra layer available for video meetings.

I did not need to wear the jacket all day. I could stay cool and comfortable in the sundress while working, then slip the jacket on right before joining a video call.

An Easy Messy Bun With More Volume

Because I had an errand before work, I also wanted a quick hairstyle. I pulled my hair into a messy bun and used a bun scrunchie to give it more volume.

Today’s outfit worked for every part of my morning. I could run to the bank looking put together, come home and work comfortably, and add my navy jacket when it was time for video meetings.

The fall-inspired colors helped satisfy my desire to move into the next season, while the lightweight, flowy sundress kept me covered and cool in the lingering heat.
