Today, the weather is turning cooler here in Northeast Georgia, and we’re getting some windy, rainy weather with the hurricane. We’re staying home, getting comfortable, and letting it be one of those days when slowing down feels pretty wonderful.
I picked out a super cozy outfit, started my morning with a little self-care, and decided to enjoy a day of pampering mixed with a few things around the house. Nothing fancy or perfectly planned—just some little comforts that make staying home feel good. 💕

First Up: An Everything Shower
You girls know about the everything shower. IYKYK! 😂
The shower where you take your time and give yourself a little extra attention instead of rushing through and moving on to the next thing.
I started with a lavender shower steamer for a calming scent. There’s something so lovely about a warm shower with that little touch of aromatherapy while the weather outside is dreary.
While I was in the shower, I used my Keranique Deep Repair Hair Mask. I really love this product! My hair feels moisturized, softer, and stronger after using it. It’s one of those extra steps that feels worth taking the time for.
Cozy Clothes Make the Day Better
After my shower, I slipped into my comfy outfit: a rust-colored cardigan, matching straight-leg lounge pants, and a coordinating tie-dye top, all from Torrid.
Soft, comfortable, and cozy enough for a cooler day—but still cute! Staying home doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy what I’m wearing.
I finished the outfit with my Skechers slippers, because a stay-at-home pampering day definitely calls for comfortable feet.
Fancy Nancy Tip: Pick something that feels good to wear. A soft outfit and cozy slippers can make even an ordinary day at home feel a little more special.
Eye Masks, Coffee & Catching Up With a Girlfriend
Then the pampering began!
I put on my gold eye masks, started a load of laundry, and called a girlfriend I hadn’t talked to in a while.
Coffee in hand, we caught up on life and a little gossip. Sometimes, a good conversation with a friend is exactly what you need. It’s easy to get busy and let too much time pass between those calls.
After we chatted, I switched the laundry over. That’s my kind of self-care morning: a little pampering, a little productivity, and plenty of time to enjoy my coffee.
Hubby Made Breakfast—Yeah!
By then, hubby had woken up and surprised me by making us breakfast. Yeah!!! 💕
I’m planning to make pizza for dinner tonight, so having him take care of breakfast was such a sweet treat.
A cozy morning gets even better when someone else does the cooking!
Back to a Little More Pampering
After breakfast, it was time to finish my skincare routine.
I applied my Neutrogena Hydro Boost serum, gave it a little time to absorb, and then followed with my Olay Total Effects lotion.
I like taking my time with these little steps when I have the chance. On a busy morning, it’s easy to rush. Today, I could slow down and enjoy the routine.
A Few Things to Do…Then Netflix
The rest of the day will be a mix of catching up on some writing, social media, and a few work things before picking out something on Netflix.
There’s laundry to finish, pizza to make tonight, and plenty of cozy time in between.
I’m calling it a lazy day, even if I get a few things done. The difference is that I’m moving at my own pace instead of trying to squeeze everything into a schedule.
Self-Care Can Be Simple
For me, today’s self-care looks like a warm shower, a favorite hair mask, soft clothes, coffee, a girlfriend’s voice on the phone, and breakfast made by hubby.
It doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate. Sometimes, it’s giving yourself permission to enjoy the little things you already have—and taking a break when you need one.
If you’re spending a rainy day at home, put on something comfortable, call someone you’ve been meaning to catch up with, and make a little room for yourself.
The chores will still get their turn. So can you. 💕
What’s your favorite way to spend a cozy, rainy day at home?
Stay cozy, stay safe, and take a little time for you.
💕 Fancy Nancy
